Risotteria

Risotteria is a fabulous retaurant in the West Villiage on Bleeker Street between 6th and 7th avenues in NYC.

This restaurant has been on my list of places to go for quite some time since it was recommended to me by one of my colleagues. It was the perfect spot for a Girl Date with Cora and we were in no way disappointed…

It all started when the waitress places a couple of gluten-free bread sticks on our table (We probably didn’t even need to order, Cora was happy enough to have bread sticks!). We each got an order of Risotto to start: I got the asparagus and saffron and Cora got the porcini, sweet corn & white truffle oil. Both were amazing and I took half of mine home to enjoy for lunch the next day.

As an entre I ordered the mozzarella, chicken and pesto panini (which can be ordered with gluten free bread!) and Cora had one of their delicious salads. Now the best part: Dessert! We were both so full, but HAD to order the chocolate brownie. It came out and, like everything else, was gluten-free and amazing! With a huge smile on her face Cora looked at me and said “I haven’t had a brownie is years!!”.  With a glass (or two!) of wine each it was a great meal and I am already planning my trip back!

The restaurant is small (only seats about 20 people) and they don’t take reservations so be patient and try to go on a less popular night out (like a Monday or Tuesday). It is well worth the wait!

Enjoy!
